Meeting with the STEM Directors of Primary and Secondary Sector at Ministry of Education, Nicosia, Cyprus 22/11/2024

On the 22nd of November, 2024, CIP had the honour of presenting our work and insights to the STEM Directors of the Primary and Secondary Education Sectors. This impactful session brought together key stakeholders, including Education Officers, the Inspector of Science and the Inspector of Mathematics in Education, and the Officer of the Directory of Education.

During the meeting, we showcased the STEM-xhibitions project, detailing its methodology, partner collaborations, and how its results remain accessible via our website. Our innovative approach to STEM education sparked significant interest, particularly for its potential to support teachers and empower students—especially those with learning difficulties—through engaging, inclusive, and forward-thinking methodologies. Other relevant projects, that CIP is part of, were also presented (like SMILE www.horizonsmile.eu, and Trace www.trace.eu).

We also discussed challenges in addressing disengagement and underachievement in STEM at the secondary level. Based on our findings, recommendations were shared to align with the European Education Area (EEA) and European Skills Agenda, promoting inclusivity, innovation, and compliance with EU education directives.

This session exemplifies the power of collaboration and the importance of shared expertise in shaping the future of education. Together, we’re driving progress for educators, students, and communities!

The result of this meeting was the establishment of a future collaboration between CIP and the Ministry of Education.
